"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men and women are created equal ..."
- Declaration of Rights and Sentiments, 1848
It took 71 years for women to gain the vote and full citizenship in the United States, and over a hundred years for the promise of the 14th and 15th ammendents to be realized and the vote fully extended to the minority populations. To all those in the United States, if for no other reason than to honor those who endured a lifetime of marching, harrasment, arrests and violence to extend the suffrage, tomorrow, vote.
We now return to the regularly scheduled program, "A Gringa in Santiago".
