Picture of the Day

Yes, its been a while. I blame finally finding an apartment, not having internet in said apartment and then being back in the United States for the holidays.

In the spirit of my trip home, today's Picture of the Day isn't from Santiago, but from San Francisco (California) to celebrate the 100th anniversary of its public transit system, MUNI. Even those who have never been to San Francisco have seen the iconic images of the old cable cars, still used to ferry tourists up and down the city's hills. The old cars have become as synonymous with the city as Lombard Street, the panoramic views of the bay, fog, and the Golden Gate Bridge. The picture is of the modern MUNI used by the locals which includes a subway/lightrail system, an extensive system of buses and links to Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) trains which takes commuters to Berkeley, East Bay and SFO.
