Starting 1 March 2013 a new law came into effect in Chile which banned smoking in all indoor/enclosed resturants and bars and in places where children were present. All of a sudden I can go out for dinner and drinks without having to worry about whether the shirt/jacket/dress I am wearing is machine washable. Never underestimate the sheer joy of coming home from a nice night out and not smelling like an ash tray.
Right after the "Snuff Law" came into effect no smoking (prohibido fumar o no fumar) signs started showing up in various places. This one is on the elevated walk way over to the Costenera Center. Every time I pass it on the way to Jumbo I have the odd desire to give it a hug.
